This Cookie Policy explains how fastyping.me (the "Service") uses cookies and similar technologies, such as browser local storage.

1. We don't use tracking cookies

Unlike most websites, fastyping.me does not set any cookies for authentication, preferences, or tracking. Instead, we use your browser's local storage for the same purposes.

2. Local storage we use

This information stays in your browser and is only sent to our servers when needed (for example, your access token when calling our API).

• ft-theme — remembers whether you prefer dark or retro mode.
• ft-lang — remembers your language choice on pages that support it.
• access_token and user — keep you signed in to your account.
• ft-cookie-consent — remembers your analytics preference so we don't ask again.

3. Analytics

If you consent, we load a self-hosted analytics script (Umami) that collects anonymized, aggregated statistics such as page views, referrers, approximate country-level location (derived from your IP address, which is not stored), and device/browser type. Umami does not use cookies, does not create persistent visitor identifiers, and does not track you across other websites.

4. Your choices

When you first visit the Service, you can choose to accept all, reject non-essential features, or customize your preferences via the cookie banner. You can change your choice at any time using the "Cookie preferences" link in the footer.

5. Changes to this policy

We may update this Cookie Policy if the technologies we use change. We will update the "Last updated" date above when we do.
